Restaurant Advertisement

This project was created InDesign, which I prefer over Photoshop.
There were many new tools in this lesson. The goal was to create an advertisement for a restaurant. One thing I am very proud of is the fact I did all of this out of class, so I could not ask fellow students for  help. I did this completely on my own with my own trouble shooting.
Guides are phenomenal! I am glad that InDesign has this feature. There were also hidden characters. I used those in this project as well. I have used these before in Word and have never fully understood the point of them.
I learned what preflighting was and utilized that. This is where the computer checks the project for output issues.
The selection tool is slightly different than Photoshop, as it also allows you to crop objects and resize them opposed to just selecting and moving objects. This tool was used frequently in this project.
I added text and learned how to change the style, such as making it bold and italic.
Another feature I loved in this program is the fact I can load texts from other files and also allow it to flow over.
I used paragraph styles, which again is similar to a Word feature, to make texts into subheadings.
I changed the color of texts. Once I did that and added italics, I created a new style. This was extremely helpful as I was able to just select text and click a button to format it correctly versus having to go through multiple steps each time. Especially since I originally had trouble finding how to give the text color. I couldn't find the list of colors, only the black and white scale originally.
Loading graphics was also super easy in this program.
I rotated an object and also gave it an outline color and fill color. Originally, I could only figure out how to do the fill color. It took a bit of exploring to eventually find out how to fill the outline. Once I did it was still not as bright as the textbook showed, but it was still green.
I used object styles to give the textboxes a backdrop and shadow. This made it pop.
